उत्तराखंड के विख्यात चित्रकार बी. मोहन नेगी अब हमारे बीच नहीं रहे। हृदयरोग के चलते कल रात देहरादून के कैलाश चिकित्सालय में उन्होंने अंतिम सांस ली। उन्हें कल ही यहां लाया गया था। उनके निधन से साहित्य जगत और संस्कृति कर्मी खासे आहत हैं। उमेश डोभाल स्मृति समारोह का आयोजन उनके चित्रों के बिना कभी नहीं हुआ।अपने चित्रों, कोलाज और कविताओं के माध्यम से वे समाजिक बुराइयों और व्यवस्थागत खामियों कर बेबाकी से तंज कसते थे।
1983 – 84 में पोस्ट आफिस गोपेश्वर में सेवारत रहने के दौरान उन्होंने पहला पेंसिल चित्र मेरा बनाया था। गोपेश्वर में सुनील नेगी की मकान पर वे करीब पांच साल हमारे पड़ोसी रहे, वहीं इनके बच्चे भी हुए। एक राज की बात जो कोई नहीं जानता चिकित्सालय की गंदगी के कारण उन्होंने अपनी पत्नी का प्रसव भी घर में खुद ही कराया। उनके चित्रों को पहली बार राजेन्द्र टोडरिया संपादित हस्तलिखित “प्रयास” पत्रिका में छापा गया तब से वे निरंतर कला साधना में रहे। ब्रेकिंग उत्तराखण्ड डाट काम परिवार उन्हें भावपूर्ण श्रध्दांजलि अर्पित करते हुए इस दुख की घड़ी में उनके परिवार साथ है।.

Renowned painter of Uttarakhand b. Mohan Negi is no longer in our midst. Due to heart disease, he breathed his last last night at the Kailash Hospital in Dehradun. They were brought here yesterday itself. With his demise, literature and culture workers are very hurt. Umesh Doval memorial function was never organized without his paintings.
Through his paintings, collages and poems, he used to make social evils and systemic flaws and weave it in silence. While serving in Post Office Gopeshwar in 1983-84, he made the first pencil picture mine. In the house of Sunil Negi in Gopeshwar, he was our neighbor for nearly five years, while his children were also there. The matter of a secret that nobody knows, because of the hospital dirt, he also gave birth to his wife in his own house. His paintings were first printed in the manuscript “Attempts” edited by Rajendra Todaria, since then he has been in constant art practice. Breaking Uttarakhand Dat Kam Parivar is offering her devotional tribute to her family in this hour of sadness.
